My Favourite Iftar Foods

Happy Ramadan every one! Today I am going to share some of my fav /must haves for iftar. For me whole month of Ramadan is like a festival but this year the heat wave is so much strong and the death tolls is extremely heartbreaking because of this scorching heat, trust me my friends I have never seen such kind of weather in Karachi in my entire life. Peace out everyone, Stay healthy and hydrated Do not forget to take care of those cool old folks around you. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims. May Allah make it easier for us.

So back to the post, I love to fast every year here are some of my favorite things I love to eat in iftar or you can say that these things and iftar for me is so much associated each other. I don’t eat fried food much in Ramadan rather then I love to keep it simple, basic and healthy too.

So this drink is self explanatory. Everyone knows about, I love to add chia seeds in this red drink.

Chicken spring rolls:

These are my ultimate favorite; they are not heavy at all and packed with vegetables and chicken. Some time I replace them with burritos.

Fruits and dates:

Oh! Not for the month of Ramadan I love to stock dates throughout the year, I love eating them and for fruits I don’t make fruit salad kind of stuff. I personally don’t like the idea of soggy fruit salad. I cut fruits freshly and eat them; also I do not add any flavor or chaat masala.

Split Bengal Gram /Chana Daal Salad:

Is been years I am making this salad for iftar and I still love to eat. I use boil gram with raw vegetables, salt, lemon and crush red chilies.

Cutlets:

I add cheese in the mixture of boil potato and chicken and it turns out something like that, YUMMY!

So these are some of my favorite foods for iftar, do you want me to recommend any? Would love to know

 XO Sehar

  2. Thoughts and prayers for those who passed away due to the heat wave. It was heart breaking to read the death toll and particular the elderly being the victims. If anything, a very trying and emotional time. Bless those families who lost a loved one.
Your favourite foods are very healthy and easy to prepare. Plus, I like that the foods are not spicy or laden with extra sauces/condiments. I am going to make the rolls and the cutlets soon.
I like eating dates and watermelon during Ramadan. Plus, sweet potato (baked) fries and hummus dip. Simple, healthy foods to keep us nourished and energized as the days are long. Thanks for sharing. Your food photography is wonderful. Well done.

  3. The death toll due to heat wave has been so scary and heartbreaking. May Allah rest them all in peace who died in the holy month of Ramadan, in state of suffering.
I can't eat iftaar right away. Soft drinks help a lot. But cutlets are my ultimate favorites for iftaar (: I love your photos, Sehar x
